The project

Couples’ Matters is a series of short films dealing on modern husbands and wives and their sometimes not that conventional relationships.

The stories are independent — each short film will have its own story — but they will work as a series, if viewed as a sequence.

The first episode, Wedding Anniversary, was shot December 10th and 11th 2005 and its release is due to november 2006.

The cast

The first episode of the series Couple’s Matters features Silvana da Costa Alves and Rafael Kerber.

Silvana took part in short films like Cássio Tolpolar’s Venus and in Renato Falcão’s feature film Margareth’s Party.

Rafael acted in Fabiano de Souza’s prizewinner Five Suits short film and in the recently released Carlos Gerbase’s feature film Silver Salt.

Add to the cast Daniel Anillo, Lisiane Costa, Lesley Leichtweis, Jonas Amadeo Lucas, Gustavo Saul, Sinara Terra and Sidney Tomassini.

The director

Juliano Verardi is director and screenwriter. Couples’ Matters – I. Wedding Anniversary is his first short film. The Sniper, his second short film, has won funding from the FUMPROARTE – Municipal Fund For the Support of Cultural and Artistic Production in Porto Alegre and is at pre-production phase, to be released on April 2007. Among other projects, he prepares, also for 2007, the shooting of the second episode of Couples’ Matters’s project.

The crew

The team put together for this work counts on new achievers of the brazilian cinema: besides the director Juliano Verardi, the executive producers Débora Luz and Luciana Druzina, the director of photography Ricardo Rheingantz and the art director Linda Madruga are some of the names which comprise this short film crew.
